Richard Dee "Dickie" Greene

Richard Dee “Dickie” Greene 76, of Richmond Dale, passed at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center following an extended illness.

     He was born March 19, 1950, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to the late Russell “Bus” and Georgia “Poogie” Langdon Greene.  On July 20, 1980, he married the former Jan Kneece who survives. 

     Also surviving are daughters, Christy (Chris) Clagg, of Gallipolis and Barbie (Brad) Thomas, of Rio Grande; grandchildren, Allie (Hunter) Mannon, Brody (Mackenzie) Thomas and Bailey Clagg; great grandchildren, Tatum and Kix; a brother, Jerry (Vera) Greene, of Worthington; sisters, Anne Parks, of Jackson, Debbie (Pam) Greene, of Columbus and Terry (Peggy) Greene, of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

     Dickie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He retired from DuPont in 2010 where he had worked for many years.  Dickie was an avid softball player.

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Jim Sanders officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale, OH where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
