Richard L. "Dick" Betts Obituary

Richard L. Betts, 74, of Chillicothe, died 10:04 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born April 3, 1947, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late James and Margaret Bryant Betts. On September 10, 1972, he married the former Bonnie Sue Cockrell who died February 12, 2021.

Surviving are a daughter, Christina Betts; a son, Joseph Betts; brothers, Steve (Diane) Betts and Rickey (Kathy) Betts, all of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Patricia Bryant Betts and Lois “Sue” Bower and brothers, David Kenton Betts, James Betts Jr., Terry Betts, William “Kenny” Betts and Clyde Betts.

Dick retired from Chillicothe City Schools.

A private burial will be held for family. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
