Ricky D. Manson, age 66, of Chillicothe, passed away on April 25, 2026.
He was born December 4, 1959, to George M. Manson, Sr. and Eva Detty Manson. Ricky is survived by his wife, Patty Manson, whom he married on April 21, 1993, and shared 33 years of marriage.
He is survived by his loving stepchildren, Pamela Wright and Mark T. Wright Jr. (Laura); and step-grandchildren, Emberli Lloyd (Diego) and Alyson Dempsey (Matthew). He also leaves behind his beloved niece, Andrea Hanby (Josh), and their daughter, Eva, who was truly the light of his life. Eva lovingly called him “Ditty,” and he cherished every moment they spent together with Aunty P. Ricky adored Eva deeply, and their bond was something special to all who knew them.
He is also survived by his brother, George M. Manson, Jr. (Glenda) of Amanda; his sister, Joan K. Barrows (Mark) of Chillicothe; his aunt, Patty Speakman; uncles, Skip Speakman and Joe Sparks; along with many cousins.
He is further survived by nieces and nephews Brandon Manson (Carrie), Stacey Schobelock (Shawn), Brittany Baxter (Dustin), and Samantha Claytor, who together include seven great-nephews and two great-nieces.
Ricky was the owner of Chillicothe Glass for many years before selling the business to pursue a career in corrections. He proudly worked at the Ross Correctional Institution (RCI) from 1995 to 2020, where he built lasting friendships. Among those were his best friends and golfing companions, Dan Hooks, Joe Powers, and Scott “Reddog” Price, whom he affectionately called “the amigos.”
He was also known as an excellent carpenter and took great pride in his craftsmanship.
In his free time, Ricky enjoyed spending his summers on the golf course, playing as often as he physically could. He found peace and happiness in the game and the time spent outdoors.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, and the special connections he shared with those closest to him.
