Robert G. “Bob” “Pop” Walters, 87, of Chillicothe, passed at 3:25 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born March 16, 1937, in Ross County, to the late George B. Walters and Eileen Willett. On January 17, 1958, he married the former Mary Wells who passed December 19, 2013.
Surviving are children, Teresa E. Tackett, Peggy A. Harper, both of Chillicothe and George (Gladys) Walters, of Waverly; grandchildren, Tami (Jr) Chambers, Danny Jr. (Amber) Curtis, Jeffery (Angie) Harper, April Tackett, Jason (Danielle) Curtis, Judy (Jason) Johnson, Mandie (Chris) Carroll, Tiffany (Corey) Walters, Colt (Marcy) Walters, George (Krystal) Walters, Jerrod (Ashely) Harper, Elias Diaz, Jennifer (Fralson) Sanchez, Tiffany Diaz and Jessica Correa; several great grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Keith) Bethel, of Frankfort and Phoebe (Buster) Donahue; and many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Rosemary Stayner, of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by daughters, Connie Pruitt and Sandra Curtis; and a grandson, Cam Cam Walters.
Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War and had worked as an auto mechanic. He was a former member of VFW Post 108 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1626. Bob was a long time member at the Chillicothe Seventh Day Adventist Church.
A graveside service will start at approximately 1 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 in Boblett Cemetery with Lance Doles officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 10 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the graveside service on Friday.
