Robert Michael "Bobby" Archer Obituary

Surrounded by loved ones, Robert Michael “Bobby” Archer passed peacefully at Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg, FL on June 13, 2022.

Bobby was born November 25, 1969, to Sharon (Dill) and Robert Mitchell.  He is survived by loving soulmate, Amanda “Mandi” Robbins of St. Petersburg FL; his beloved children, sons, Clay (Savanna) Archer of Chillicothe, OH; Ross (Brooklynn) Sowers of Chillicothe, OH; daughters, Tessa (Isaac) Hanners of Canal Winchester, OH; Brookelyn Sowers of Columbus, OH; mother, Sharon Archer of Brownsburg, IN; brother, Darin (Kelly) Archer of Bolivar, MO; sisters, Denne (Jamie) Smith of Plainfield, IN; Christie Mitchell-Cialkowski of Danville, IN; Marlene (Rob) Archer-Hupp of Bedford, IN; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert Mitchell; sister, Melissa Archer-Miller; grandparents, J.C. and Betty Dill, and Jim Flynn.

Bobby was a 1988 graduate of Brownsburg HS in Indiana and a 1993 graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Missouri, with a B.A. in communications. He excelled in basketball and tennis at both high school and collegiate levels.

Bobby spent several years of his professional life as an educator and coach. He also spent many years in a successful sales management career; Bob had recently started, owned, and operated Best Coast Windows and Doors in St. Petersburg, FL.

Bob grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, lived in several areas over the years, spending many in Chillicothe, Ohio. He traveled extensively throughout his life. Bob settled in St. Petersburg in 2016 with his love, Mandi. He often referred to it as their happy place and could be found most sunrises and sunsets viewing Tampa Bay from “his corner of the world”, on their patio.

Bobby was an avid Notre Dame, Chicago Cubs, and Tottenham Hotspurs fan. He became a devout Grateful Dead-head at a young age, following their tours throughout his life. He had a soul for live music, frequenting concerts as often as possible. He also enjoyed the arts, cooking, fishing, and lots of time on the beach with family and friends.

Most importantly, Bobby leaves behind a legacy of kindness, happiness, peace, and love. All that were fortunate enough to have Bob in their lives understand what a truly wonderful person he was. His presence lit up a room, he made everyone feel loved and welcome. Bob didn’t know a stranger, leading to a life full of great and lasting friendships. His genuinely positive outlook on life was inspiring and impacted many. This world is a better place because of Bobby Archer.

A memorial service will be held 6 PM Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Ohio with Joseph Barker officiating.  Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4 PM to 6 PM prior to the memorial service on Thursday.

Celebrations of his life will also be held in both Brownsburg, Indiana and St. Petersburg, Florida.  The times for those services will be announced at a later date.
