Roger A. Brust

Roger A. Brust, 81, of Chillicothe, passed at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.

     He was born August 20, 1943, in Chillicothe, to Howard and Kathryn Shaffer Brust.  On October 16, 1988, he married the former Debbie M. Demint who survives. 

     In addition to his wife, surviving are a daughter, Rachele (Jake Parrett) McCloskey, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Savannah McCloskey, Isaiah McCloskey, Uriah Parrett, and Levi Parrett, all of Chillicothe; brothers, Richard “Dick” (Donna) Brust, of Castle Rock, CO, Burtrum Burt, of Chillicothe; sisters, Connie Stahl, of Dublin and Valetta Loudenslager, of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was predeceased by his father, Howard Brust; mother and stepfather, Kathryn and Richard “Dick” Trimpi; sisters, Cynthia Nichols and Rhea Timmons; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Stahl.

     Roger served in the United States Army and Army National Guard.  He attended Hilltop Mission and retired from Menasha Packaging Co. where he had worked as a Truck Driver.  Roger enjoyed making model cars, his grandkids (which were everything to him) and a fan of OSU basketball and football and especially loved watching his grandkids play sports.

     A “Thank You” to the Adena Cancer Center (Dr. Rose and staff), also OSU Oncology (Dr. Meing and staff), National Church Residences of Chillicothe with a special  “Thank You” to Clarissa Walsh, his nurse, for their dedication during this fight.

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2024 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bob Jividen officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where Military Rites will be given by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
