Ronald Lee Sanders

     Ronald Lee Sanders, 84, of Chillicothe, passed 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the Chillicothe VAMC following an extended illness.

     He was born August 10, 1941 in Chillicothe to the late Margaret (Sanders) Bland. 

     Surviving are children, Rhonda Sanders-McDermott, of Chillicothe, Shane Sanders, of Chillicothe and Tonda Flannery, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Audra and Sarah McDermott  and Cammie Sublett; great grandchildren, Destiny and Brayden Sublett; a brother, Carl Bland and 3 sisters, Marti Tackett, Carol Good, and Helen Evans; numerous nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by son, Sabin Lee Sanders; step-son, Randall Lee Sanders; mother and step-father, Margaret and Asa Leo Bland; former spouse, Rita Sanders; several half- brothers and half-sisters.

     Ronald served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Bay of Pigs in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  He retired from O.D.N.R. and was a life member of AMVETS Post 4.

     Visitation will be held 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026 in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Aaron Long officiating and military rites given by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
