Ronald D. "Ron" Draise, Sr.

     Ronald D. “Ron” Draise, Sr., 73, of Chillicothe, passed at 1:17 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

     He was born September 1, 1951, in Circleville, Ohio, to the late Donald and Elizabeth Morgan Draise.  On April 6, 2013, he married the former Julie Ackerman who survives.

     Also surviving are children, Ronald D. (Jamie) Draise, Jr., of Frankfort, Travis Draise, of Chillicothe, Doug (Rebecca) Sandholdt, of Cape Coral, FL, DeeAnn Swanson, of Norwalk, IA and Cari (Matt) Gallagher, of Carroll, OH; grandchildren, Micah Elton, Cody Draise, Justin Draise, Nathan Sandholdt, Elivia Stout, Leah Gallagher, Brittany Breyer, and Delaney Ackley; and 2 great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald L. “Dude” Draise.

     Ron retired from Chillicothe Correctional Institute where he had held many positions thru his career.  Following retired from C.C.I, he went to work for Fed Ex where he drove a semi until he retired in 2013.  He was an avid hunter and loved to fish.  Ron was a Cowboy at heart and also enjoyed riding horses and watching rodeos.  Above all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

     A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Ferrell officiating.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday.  A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Additionally, a memorial service will also be held in Sabula, IA later this spring.
