Rosemary Cox, 94, of Chillicothe, passed at 4:02 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born January 16, 1932, in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Delta and Dora Neff. On February 1, 1952 she married Charles “Dwight” Cox who passed on July 4, 1992.
Surviving are a son, Dwight Steven Cox, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Carney, of Chillicothe and Darren (Kayla) Cox, of Chillicothe; a great grandson, Spencer Carney; sisters, Marilyn Caldwell, of Chillicothe and Charlene Hertzer, of Pickerington; a brother, Robert Neff, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Barbara Adkins and Wanda Neff and a daughter-in-law, Karen M. Cox.
Rosemary was a 1949, graduate of Centralia High School and retired from The Chillicothe Telephone Company where she had worked for 35 years. She was a member Mt. Carmel Church and had attended Hallsville Community Church. Rosemary enjoyed shopping, playing cards, baking and jigsaw puzzles.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Pastor Michael Rhoads and Pastor Greg Gardner officiating. A private visitation will be held for family. Following the graveside service the family would like to extend an invitation to join them for a luncheon in the Mt. Carmel Church’s fellowship hall. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Carmel Church or Hallsville Community Church.
