Russell Lee Mason was born April 30 1935 to Headley Mason and KatieMae (Stanley) Mason. He was raised in Meigs County Ohio where he learned the values of hard work, love of family and the love of God.
On September 25 1965 his life changed forever when he married his best friend Norma (White). They set out to build a life focused around their church and their family. Out of their love they have four children (Sabrina, Bill, Maria and Rachel). They have four grandsons (Nathan, Anthony, Jonathon and Jarad) as well as two great grandsons (Landen and Asher). He also has a very special kitten named Wiggles.
Russell and Norma have lived on their own terms in Chillicothe since 1977 where they have been active members of the community. In addition to attending several churches in the area, he worked at JC Penny for 10 years selling appliances, He sold appliances at Sun TV and then was at Lowes until retiring.
Russell has one brother Paul Mason aged 90 living in a Winston Salem North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents and half-siblings.
He shared the interests with his family. He would sing with everyone and loved songs from the 40’s and 50’s. He had a love of sports with his grandchildren. He loved watching them play over the years and recently became a fan of The Ohio State Football as it brought him closer to his grandsons. And he loved reading the Bible and praying daily with his wife.
If the success of a man can be measured on the lives touched and goodness shown to others than Russell was the most successful man to walk on Earth.
