Ruth Ann Davis

     Ruth Ann Davis, 81, of Chillicothe, passed at 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025 in the Adena Regional Medical following a brief illness.

     She was born November 28, 1943, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Harry and Ruth Schmidt Kendall.  On February 1, 1969, she married George W. Davis who passed on June 27, 2017. 

     Surviving are a daughter, Laurie (Shawn) Martin, of Chillicothe; a son, Justin Davis, of Chillicothe; and grandchildren, Alexander Clay Davis, Ashton Layne Daniels, and Jackson George Martin.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Irwin.

     Ann had been employed by the Mead Corporation in her 20’s where she met the love of her life, George.  Together, they raised a close-knit family who will continue to carry on their legacy of love. 

     Ann and George were the neighborhood “parents” for multiple kids, in addition to their own, where everyone always felt welcomed and loved.  In her later years, Ann “Gahmi” was most happy spending time with her children and grandchildren, eating lunch with friends at the Paxton Restaurant, or reading a book with her beloved cat Minnie on her lap. 

     Ann was an active member of the Preceptor Epsilon Omega Sorority for many years and her sorority sisters were some of her best friends.  Ann was passionate about genealogy and spent time working at the Ross County Genealogical Society as well as the Board of Elections, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chillicothe. 

     Although Ann’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, and she will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched, we will still see her in the birds, butterflies and flowers.

     Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME.  A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
