Ruth Ann Speakman

     Ruth Ann Speakman, 75, of Chillicothe, passed from this life at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

     She was born August 7, 1948, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Herbert and Dorothy Fuller Frey. 

     Surviving are her children,  Tracey (Doug) Mitten, of Kingston, Michele (John) Fitzpatrick, Angela (Chad) Zeisler, Lynnette Speakman and Timothy (Tamara) Speakman, all of Chillicothe; stepsons, Brian Speakman, of Chillicothe and Christopher (Suzy) Speakman, of Tooele, UT; grandchildren, Tyler (Mackenzie) Mitten, Briley Mitten, Whitney Speakman, Brandon Fitzpatrick, Christian Curtis, Arielle Zeisler, Jordan Johnson, Sydney Dyke, Mackenzie Dyke, and Jaxon Skeens; great grandchildren; Liam Speakman Perry, Artemis Nail, Arabella Fitzpatrick, Avery Rinehart, Lynnex Rinehart and Asher Rinehart; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Bret) Richter, Debbie Hawks, Irene Dodge, and Shirley Bush; numerous nieces and nephews; and former husband and father of her children, Larry D. Speakman, of Chillicothe.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Speakman; brothers, Carl, David, Robert, Tom, Charles and Jimmy. 

     Family was everything to Ruth and she really enjoyed large family gatherings.  She was so proud of her children and grandchildren.  They brought her so much joy.  Ruth was loved by everyone that knew her and she would do anything she could for anyone in need.  She was an assistant manager of the former Bonanza and Ponderosa restaurants in Chillicothe and had also owned and operated her cleaning business.  Above all, her greatest joy was caring for her family and making sure they were taken care of.  Ruth will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

     A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 in Twin Township Cemetery with Chaplain Bruce Hines officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
