Sally Wallingford, 84, of Chillicothe, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:17 a.m. on May 2nd, 2026 after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born on November 8th, 1941 to the late Phillip and Mary Weinrich. On January 25, 1959, she married James H. Wallingford who passed August 8th, 2013.
She is survived by her children, Toben Wallingford, of Chillicothe, Todd (Michelle) Wallingford, of Wilkesville, OH Teresa (Kirk) Poling, of Limerick, PA and Theron Wallingford, of Orient, OH. She is also survived by her brother, Phillip Weinrich and many nieces and nephews. She also has 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her loving sister-in-law, Bonnie Weinrich.
Sally was a devoted Christian who loved to pray and read the bible. She invested into the lives of many. Sally was a big time OSU football fan and the Cincinnati Reds. Sally loved having a beautiful flower garden. She loved doing puzzles and caring for her many faithful companions, her dogs. Sally also loving having her grandchildren over and she loved her tea in the mornings. Although she fought Crohn’s Disease for 70 years and cancer the last few, she never once complained. She proclaimed the goodness of God and her favorite saying was her life and times were in his hands.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 in Open Door Church with Pastor Mark Pfeifer, Pastor Shaun Howard and Pastor John Hocker officiating. Special music will be offered by Stan Clark. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Open Door Church from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 7th. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
