Sharon Cook Obituary

Sharon Cook, 66, of Chillicothe, left this earth and entered into her eternal home at 12:48 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021 following a brief illness.

She was born October 24, 1955, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late James and Martha Knapp Skaggs.  On April 9, 1971, she married Pastor James A. Cook who died November 21, 2021.

Surviving are children Jeremy Cook, Jimmy Cook, Ali Porter, Christopher “CJ” Cook, Heaven Cook, and Breea Cook all of Chillicothe; grandchildren Brianna, Brady, Alyson, Emberli, Grace, Tasha, Nick, Marie, and Salem; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Benson, Liam, Lianna, Bexleigh, Ava, Maria, Ashur, Atty, Declia, and Betty; brothers, Gene (Karen) Skaggs, of Chillicothe and Curtis (Ruth) Skaggs, of Chillicothe; many nieces and nephews whom they considered their kids too; brothers-in-law, Dan (Carolyn) Cook, of Chillicothe and Buddy Cook, of Frankfort; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Finnegan, of Columbus.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Pamela Hammond and Eleanor Davis.

Sharon served alongside her husband in his many Ministries over the years as a Pastor’s wife for over 30 years, Nipgen Church Camp Coordinator for 15 years, and was a foster parent for 10 years.

Sharon and Jim raised not only their own children, but took in multiple others over the years. Every kid was always welcome in their home! They were foster parents for 10 years and were able to be a safe haven for many children over that time, many of which they still claim as part of our family.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of WARE FUNERAL HOME.
