Shirley O. Bayes

     Shirley O. Bayes, 86, of Chillicothe passed 11:29 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

     She was born April 28, 1938 in Vanceburg, KY to the late John D. and Hazel M. Highland Blankenship.  On July 18, 1980 she married Woodrow Bayes who preceded her on March 23, 1997.

     Surviving are children, Pamela Corcoran, Ray (Janice) Smith, Lora Lee Smith, Danny Hughes and Robert (Mandy) Current, all of Chillicothe; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; plus several great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by daughter, Amy Hughes Senig; 2 granddaughters, 2 great granddaughters, a great great granddaughter, 11 brothers and 4 sisters.

     Shirley was a retired nursing assistant.

     A graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2024 in Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Mike Blankenship officiating. There will be no public calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
