Shirley Dillon

     Shirley Dillon, 80, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly January 18, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center. 

She was born the daughter of the late Edward Scott and Dorothy Marie (Caplinger) Gustin.

     Shirley married the late Howard Dillon on August 2, 1959.  They enjoyed 61 years of marriage together before his passing on October 26, 2020.

     From their union were born daughters, Debbie (Gary) McClaskey, Tonya (Jim) Robinson, Cindy (Ken) Robison and a son Tim (Jackie) Dillon; 8 cherished grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, all of Chillicothe.  She loved them all very much.  All of whom survive her and will miss her.

     Shirley leaves behind her brother Tom (Jeannie) Gustin of Chillicothe, a sister-in-law Evelyn Dean of Springfield, and many life-long friends, co-workers, cousins, nieces and nephews.

     She graduated from CHS in 1959.  She retired from Harts Dept. Store where she worked as a cashier for 14 years.  It was a job she loved until the store closed.

     Shirley was a very good and kind mother, always there for her children when they needed her.  She loved to dance with her husband and spend time with family and friends.

     Shirley would like to especially thank her nurses Kristin, Elizabeth, Kay and her great-grandson, Dillon, for lovingly caring for her every day for the last 2 years of her life.  They made it possible for her to live comfortably in her own home and that meant so much to her.

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Ware Funeral Home with Chaplain Jeremy Schinkle officiating.  Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
