Steven B. Eldridge

     Steven B. Eldridge, 67, of Chillicothe, passed at 1:50 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at his residence.

     He was born July 22, 1954, in Kingston, Ohio, to the late Willard and Wilma Cartee Eldridge.  On August 23, 1997, he married the former Ruby Burke who survives. 

     In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Christopher B. (Janda) Eldridge; grandchildren, Ava and Gwyn Eldridge; brothers, Sam (Susie) Eldridge, Scott Eldridge, Terry (Brenna) Eldridge, all of Chillicothe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Eldridge; and many friends, including his best friend, James Alexander.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Gary Eldridge.

     Steven was a 1972 graduate of Southeastern High School.  He served in the United States Air Force and United States Army and retired from the United States Air Force Reserves.  Steve also retired in 2008 from the Chillicothe Post Office where he had worked as the Postmaster and from Columbus State Community College’s Mail Room.  He had also worked as a Substitute School Teacher and had served on the School Board Member at his alma mater, Southeastern Local Schools.  Steve was a member of the American Legion Post 62.      

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.  His cremains will be inurned in Freedom Memorial Plaza National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
