Thomas F. Rickey

     Thomas F. Rickey, 86 years old, of Chillicothe, passed Monday, November 3, 2025 in National Church Residences, Chillicothe following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. 

     Tom was born April 10, 1939, in Vinton County, Ohio, to the late Frank and Hazel Kelley Rickey.  On December 31, 1964, he was united in married the former Shirley A. Bobo who passed July 13, 2013.  Also preceding him in death were sisters, Alma Miller and Virginia Reynolds and a dear friend, Ray Rigsby. 

     Tom is survived by a son, Todd T. Rickey and daughter-in-law, Sarah, both of Chillicothe, Ohio and extended family, Linda, Beth and Greg Rigsby, all of Waverly, Ohio, Rita Moore, Ronnie and Thelma Moore and Larry and Linda Moore, all of Piketon, Cody, Katie and Jase Rigsby, all of Chillicothe and Shyanne Rigsby and Austin Lowman, both of Waverly. 

     Tom was proud that he served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Upon discharge from the Army, he worked at RCA / Thomson Consumer Electronics until he retired after 28 years of service. Tom and Shirley enjoyed all the bus tours to many destinations before Shirley’s health declined.

     In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.  A graveside service, with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating, will be held for family in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Military rites will be given by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to NCR Hospice 807 Western Avenue Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. 

     The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staffs of National Church Residences and NCR Hospice for all the care over the years.  It has been much appreciated.
