Thomas W. "Tom" Gillfillan

     Thomas W. “Tom” Gillfillan, 81, of Chillicothe, died 11:25 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following a short illness.

     He was born October 25, 1939, in Ross County to the late Walter and Frankie Purdum Gillfillan. On September 1, 1961, he married the former Kathy Barber who survives.

     Also surviving are children, Susan Gillfillan, of Chillicothe, Ann (Ty) Hanson, of Aberdeen, SD, Jennifer McBee, of Chillicothe and Sarah (Steve) True, of Buena Vista, CO; grandchildren, Alivia, Gabe, Asher and Gracie McBee and Liam and Tyler True; sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Gillfillan, of Conover and Shirley Gillfillan, of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Adam Wesley Gillfillan; a sister, Marceil “Marty” Fout; and brothers, Richard, John and Gordon Gillfillan.

     Tom retired from ODOT where he worked as a surveyor. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Chillicothe Enduro Riders Association. Tom served in the Army National Guard.

     His family would like to thank the V.A. Hospital staff and caregivers for the wonderful care he received.

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
