Verla Snyder

     Verla Snyder, 90, of Waverly passed at 5:22 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at her residence.

     She was born June 2, 1934 in Coon Creek, Kentucky to the late Greenville and Mary Liz Howard Montgomery.  On December 31, 1984, she married Robert Snyder who survives.  She was predeceased by her first husband, William Burr Wright who passed in 1971.

     Surviving are children, Sandra Lawless, of Waverly and Montgomery Wright, of Hillsboro; step-children, Debra Fischer, of Frederick, MD, Robert (Vicki) Snyder, of Londonderry and Steve (Karla) Snyder, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, William (Alyssa) Lawless, Jennifer (Wesley) Cornett, Hamidou Ngoungou, Denver Snyder, Logan Snyder, Kirra Snyder and Jeena Snyder; great grandchildren, KayLeigh Campbell, Weston Cornett, Jaxen Cornett, Oakley Snyder and Beau Lawless.  She was predeceased by brother, Orbin, Ossie, Hector, Corbin and Skid Montgomery and sisters, Drusie Montgomery, Lucy Conley, Zula Montgomery, Flossie Montgomery and Vertie Howard. 

     Verla retired from the Chillicothe VA Medical Center where she had worked as the Food Service Supervisor.  She loved to travel and spend time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all of them. 

     A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mike Brown officiating.  Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the memorial service on Monday.
