Violet June Pollock, age 88, of Knockemstiff, Ohio, passed away at the Adena Regional Medical Center due to complications from Covid-19 at 12:42 pm on February 3, 2021, one week after her husband succumbed to the same virus. She was born on February 11, 1932, in Chillicothe to Frank and Cloie Bunn Berry, and grew up in a BIG family in the west end of the city. She graduated from Unioto High School, and worked at Elberfelds Department Store before marrying Donald R. Pollock on May 4, 1953.
She is survived by her children, Barry Pollock, Tanya Pollock, Kimberly (Charles) Hurley, and Dusty (Patsy) Pollock, along with four granddaughters, nine great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, as well as her sisters, Joan Hess and Connie Vest, and brothers, Richard (Phyllis) Berry and John Berry. She was predeceased by her husband and parents; brothers Joseph, Reuben, Larry, Raymond, George, Robert, and Frank; and her sisters, Opal Cottrill and Martha Pelcha.
Violet operated Don’s Market in Knockemstiff for many years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed the simple life, and loved to cook, tend her flowers, and spoil her grandchildren. She will be forever missed.
Due to the dangers of Covid-19, a private service only will be held for the family, and burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
