Virginia Mae Shoemaker, age 91, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Virginia was born November 16, 1933, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, to the late Mack Brock and Elizabeth (Miller) Brock. Ginny loved the time she got to spend with her family, friends, and loved the time she got to go spend time in Crab Orchard, Kentucky at her family reunion where she could, converse, laugh and sing with her siblings and their family. One thing about Ginny is she never knew a stranger, and everybody was always welcome in her home whether it was to just talk, or if they needed a meal, she was always there to help who was in need. She has been a woman of God who has devoted her life to her faith. She was very active in her church loved to preach when she had the chance, loved teaching Sunday school, and loved all her congregation. Ginny attended Trinity Lighthouse Holiness Church on Hickory Street, Chillicothe. She was a dedicated wife for 65 years to her husband, Edward Lee Shoemaker, who preceded her in death in 2018. Ginny also loved to collect Fenton glass knickknacks, and loved to take the trip to Williamstown, West Virginia to the Fenton glass art factory where she could see all the pretty colors of glass being made inside the factory, and always picked out the most beautiful colored ones, and on special occasion, and the Holidays where she loved to put all the pretty glass out, fill her beautiful dishes with candy and homemade cookies for everyone to enjoy. Ginny loved to spend time with her grandbabies playing games inside and outside teaching them how to play ball. The grandchildren were always amazed by how far she could throw the ball. They would look at her in amazement and all laugh together. This is such a great memory that they will cherish forever. She was also an avid baker, loved to make homemade breads, cookies, and dishes she learned from her mother Elizabeth (Miller) Brock when she lived at home in Crab Orchard, KY. Virginia was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Church. She had worked at Candle-Lite in Leesburg, Ohio and also babysat for many years.
