William Miller Obituary

William R. Miller 81, of Chillicothe, died 12:16 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 in the V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe unexpectedly.

Bill was born February 12, 1943, in Ross County, to the late James E. and Elizabeth Detty Miller. On February 14, 1970 he married the former Phyllis Rupert, who died September 18, 1974 and on June 25, 1976 he married the former Janet E Ratliff Bethel, who died January 19, 2011.

Surviving are a daughter, Lori Miller, of Chillicothe; stepchildren, Julie Woods, Douglas Bethel and Jason Bethel, all of Chillicothe; grandsons, Brice Miller and Logan Ritchhart; several step-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie True, of Texas and a sister-in-law, Sharon Miller, of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; and a special buddy, Jaxon Lehrman, of Greenfield. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Esther Miller; a brother, Larry Miller; a sister, Janice Miller; and a brother-in-law, Gerald True.

Bill was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired May 1, 2005 from Chilpaco where he worked for 36 years and was a member of United Steelworkers Local 988. Bill was a member of American Legion Post 757, V.F.W. Post 108, and AMVETS Post #4.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard 1 p.m. Sunday September 8, 2024 in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME Saturday, September, 7, 2024 from 5 to 8 p.m.
