William Oyer Obituary

William D. Oyer, 90, of Chillicothe, passed 12:43 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Signature Healthcare of Chillicothe.

He was born December 23, 1931 in Chillicothe to the late Leon C. and Garnet O’Dell Oyer. On December 28, 1949 he married Donna Jean Turner who survives.

Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Roy Malone of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Amy Blair, Kimberly (Blake) Smallridge and Michelle Proehl; great grandchildren, Wade (Jacqueline) Blair, Erika Shepherd and Abbi Malone; great great grandson, Allen Shepherd; brother, Jim B. Oyer of Chillicothe; sister Helen Borland of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Carolyn A. Proehl; sister, Marilyn Sheets; brothers, Forrest and Russell Oyer.

William was an active member of Hilltop Mission Church and a volunteer with American Red Cross. He retired from Chilpaco. During his retirement he worked with his friend, Jim Bumen.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bob Jividen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday.
